Through the support of the Professional Development Fund, SAC provides opportunities for CFAES staff members to engage in professional development and other training opprotunities when their respective department budgets might not allow for it. In order to achieve SAC's goal of providing quality professional development programming, the Professional Development Task Force works to promote a number of opportunities to continueously enhance the training available to the CFAES staff community. |

Staff Professional Development Grants
SAC's Staff Professional Development Grants are awarded on a selective basis to supplement the costs associated with travel and fees for professional development opportunities for CFAES staff. The grant consists of a one-time reimbursement for expenses related to professional development activities - not to exceed $250 - for conference attendance, professional certification, workshop participation, and other appropriate activities.
Official Calls for Applications are released on a biannual basis, typically in June and December of each year. Visit the SAC Events Calendar for specific application deadline dates.

SAC Road Trip
The SAC Road Trip occurs each summer and is intended to give CFAES staff an opportunity to visit the many different CFAES locations and operations around the State of Ohio. On site tours and interviews with faculty, staff, and students will enable Road Trip participants to grow in their knowledge and appreciation for the many different programs across all three of CFAES' mission areas: teaching, research, and outreach. All CFAES staff are eligible to participate in the Road Trip, but participation may be capped depending on the site(s) selected and the availability of funds.
Past Road Trips have included visits to Stone Laboratory, Ohio State South Centers, OARDC, Certified Angus Beef, and many more!
